The Ultimate Fennel Seed Cooling Drinks (Water & Milk Versions)

Known for their incredible digestive properties and natural ability to lower body temperature, fennel seeds are the star of this refreshing duo.

Ingredients

  • Step 1: The Fennel Premix Powder Yields ~1.5 cups
  • 1/2 cup Dried Fennel Seeds
  • 1 cup Palm Rock Sugar Mishri or regular cane sugar
  • 5 Green Cardamom Pods
  • 10 –12 Black Peppercorns
  • Step 2: The Toppings Pre-Soaked
  • Basil Seeds Sabja: 1 tbsp soaked in 1/2 cup water for 15 mins.
  • Edible Gum Lace Gond Katira: 1 tsp soaked in 1 cup water overnight until fluffy.
  • Step 3: Beverage Liquids
  • Water Version: Chilled Water Fresh Mint, Black Salt, Lemon Juice.
  • Milk Version: Chilled Milk Dairy or Oat.

Instructions

  • Make the Fennel Premix
  • Grind: Place fennel seeds, rock sugar, cardamom, and peppercorns in a high-speed blender.
  • Refine: Pulse into a very fine powder. Sieve the mixture to remove any coarse fibers for a smoother drink.
  • Store: Keep in an airtight container.
  • Assembly: Zesty Water Version
  • Chill: Add 5–6 ice cubes and torn mint leaves to a tall glass.
  • Layer: Add 1 big tsp of Fennel Premix, 1/4 tsp black salt, 1 tbsp soaked basil seeds, and 1 big tsp soaked edible gum.
  • Mix: Squeeze in half a lemon, top with chilled water, and stir vigorously.
  • Assembly: Creamy Milk Version
  • Base: Add 5–6 ice cubes, 1 tbsp soaked basil seeds, and 1 tsp soaked edible gum to a glass.
  • Sweeten: Add 1 ½ tsp of the Fennel Premix.
  • Finish: Pour chilled milk to the top and stir until the powder is fully dissolved.
