Today, we are diving into a recipe inspired by the world famous Thai street style Lemon & Honey Detox. It’s bubbly, tangy, naturally sweet, and features a secret texture enhancing ingredient: Basil seeds.

- The Detox Base:
- 2 large Fresh Lemons Juiced
- Raw Honey Quantity: Double the volume of the lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Sweet Basil Seeds Sabja, pre-soaked in water for 15 mins
- The Sparkle & Flavor:
- 1 cup Sparkling Water or Club Soda Chilled
- 1/2 cup Fruit Juice of choice Orange, Pineapple, or Cucumber-Mint juice
- 5 –6 large Ice Cubes
The Citrus Foundation: Squeeze the lemons into a small pitcher. Carefully remove any seeds to ensure a smooth drinking experience.
The Honey Ratio: Measure the lemon juice. Add exactly double that amount of honey into the pitcher.
Emulsify: Stir the lemon and honey vigorously until they form a consistent, glossy syrup.
Texture Addition: Add the pre-soaked, plump basil seeds to the syrup and stir gently.
Carbonation: Pour the chilled sparkling water or club soda into the pitcher. Mix lightly to maintain the bubbles.
The Ice Wall: Fill a tall serving glass to the brim with ice cubes.
The Pour: Pour the lemon-honey-soda mixture over the ice until the glass is 3/4 full.
The Top-Off: Finish by pouring your favorite fruit juice over the top to create a beautiful layered effect.
