Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Cooking spray or light oil for air fryer
  • 4 burger buns toasted
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise or light mayo
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce

Instructions

  • Season the Chicken: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until the spices are evenly integrated.
  • Form the Patties: Divide the seasoned chicken into 4 equal portions and shape them into round, flat patties.
  • Set Up the Breading Station: Prepare three shallow bowls:
  • Bowl 1: All-purpose flour.
  • Bowl 2: The egg and milk (whisked together).
  • Bowl 3: Panko breadcrumbs.
  • Dredge & Coat: Coat each chicken patty in the flour (shake off excess), dip into the egg mixture, and then press firmly into the panko breadcrumbs for an even crust.
  • Prep the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly mist both sides of the breaded patties with cooking spray or light oil.
  • Air Fry: Place the patties in the basket and cook for 8–10 minutes per side. The patties are done when the exterior is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Whisk the Sauce: While the chicken cooks, combine the mayonnaise and lemon juice in a small bowl to create the tangy sandwich spread.
  • Toast the Buns: Lightly toast your burger buns until golden and warm.
  • Assemble: Spread a generous layer of the lemon-mayo sauce on both the top and bottom buns. Place a crispy patty on the base, pile on the shredded lettuce, and add the top bun.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately while the chicken is hot and the lettuce is crisp!
