Ingredients

  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 ounce agave syrup
  • 1/4 cup cucumber thinly sliced
  • 6-8 fresh mint leaves plus more for garnish
  • Ice
  • Club soda optional, for topping up
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glass optional

Instructions

  • Extract the Essence: In a cocktail shaker, combine slices of cucumber, a handful of mint leaves, and a splash of agave syrup.
    Gently Muddle: Use a muddler to lightly press the ingredients, releasing the cucumber juice and mint oils.
    Combine: Pour in the tequila and the fresh lime juice.
    The Shake: Fill the shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for about 15–20 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels frost-cold.
    Strain and Serve: Double strain the mixture into a chilled glass (with or without fresh ice) to ensure no small bits of mint or cucumber skin end up in the drink.
    The Final Garnish: Decorate with a thin ribbon of cucumber or a fresh sprig of mint for a professional finish.
